NEXVIEW

Legal

Privacy policy.

The short version, so you do not have to read all of it: this website sets no cookies, counts no visitors and does not load a single file from a third-party server. Fonts, icons, images and scripts all live here. Exactly one thing is stored on your device, and only if you choose it yourself: whether you want the site light or dark. Beyond that, the only processing is what every web server logs technically, which is why there is no consent dialog on this site.

Good to knowThis is a courtesy translation. Only the German version is legally binding.

1. Controller

The controller for data processing on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

Projekt Nexapps, Nexview
E-mail: contact@nexapps.dev

No data protection officer has been appointed; the conditions of § 38 BDSG are not met.

2. Hosting

This website is hosted by:

ALL-INKL.COM, Neue Medien Münnich
Inh. René Münnich
Hauptstraße 68
02742 Friedersdorf
Germany

The host processes the data arising when the website is accessed on my behalf, on the basis of a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR. The servers are located in Germany; no transfer to third countries takes place.

3. Server log files

When this website is accessed, the server automatically collects information that your browser transmits and stores it in log files:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • date and time of the request
  • name and path of the retrieved file
  • amount of data transferred and whether the request succeeded
  • the previously visited page, if your browser sends it (referrer)
  • browser, version and operating system

Purpose: delivering the website, operational security and troubleshooting, and defending against attacks.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. My legitimate interest lies in providing the website in a technically sound and secure manner.
Storage period: log files are deleted after seven days at the latest. If they are needed to investigate a specific incident, they are kept until that is resolved.

This data is not merged with other data sources and is not used to identify you.

4. Cookies, local storage, analytics

No cookies. This site sets none, neither its own nor anyone else's.

One entry in local storage, and only if you choose it. If you click the button with the sun or the moon in the header, the page stores your choice under the name nv-fassung in your browser's local storage. The value is exactly one of the words light or dark. It contains no identifier, is never sent to a server, and exists only so the page looks the way you set it the next time you visit. Earlier versions of this site also offered “System”; a value stored that way is still read, but no longer written.

As long as you do not click, nothing is stored. You can remove the entry at any time through your browser settings by clearing site data for this address.

Under § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG no consent is required for this, because it is strictly necessary to provide a service you explicitly requested: you chose the appearance yourself. There is no analytics, no reach measurement and no usage tracking, with neither a self-hosted nor a third-party tool, and no other information is stored on or read from your device. That is why this site has no consent dialog.

The language switch remembers nothing. It is an ordinary link to a second page.

The film on the front page is not a video from a video platform. It is drawn in your browser from files on this server, and the film posters in it live here too. Nothing is stored and nothing is sent.

5. No content from third-party servers

No web fonts, map services, video platforms, icon libraries, advertising networks or third-party scripts are embedded. The fonts are files on this server, and the icons are part of the pages themselves. All files, including every image, are served from the same server as the page itself. The server configuration enforces this technically: it allows the browser only files from this address and would have it block anything else. While viewing this page your browser does not connect to any other provider.

6. Links to other sites

This website links to GitHub (GitHub Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) and to the AGPL-3.0 licence. Further links point to the other nex apps and to the project pages of the services and trademarks named here, among them: Apprise, Discord, Docker, Gotify, Home Assistant, IMDb, Jellyfin, JustWatch, Lucide, Metacritic, n8n, Node-RED, ntfy, Plex, Radarr, Rotten Tomatoes, Seerr, Sonarr, Synology, Telegram and TMDB. None of these links load anything in advance. They only take effect when you click them. From that point the privacy policy of the respective provider applies, and data may be transferred to the USA. For GitHub, see the GitHub privacy statement.

7. Encrypted transmission

This website is served exclusively over HTTPS. The connection between your browser and the server is therefore encrypted; requests over HTTP are redirected to HTTPS automatically.

8. Contact by e-mail

There is no contact form on this website. If you write to me by e-mail, I process your address and the content of your message solely in order to answer it. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, or Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where the matter relates to a contract. The message is deleted once it has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

9. Nexview itself

This policy covers this website. Nexview is a program that you run on your own server. The data that arises, meaning accounts, settings and requests, stays entirely with you. Neither I nor this website receive any of it; there is no sign-up with us, no telemetry and no callback channel. For the operation of your own installation, you are the controller under data protection law.

One thing belongs here, because as the operator you are the controller: your installation talks to the services you enter there yourself. That is TMDB for title data and streaming providers, your nexcrate or your Radarr and Sonarr, and, if you connect them, Plex, Jellyfin and Emby. Your server makes these requests, not your browser. On top of that it asks GitHub, at most once a day, whether a newer version of Nexview has been released; that check sends nothing out of your installation and can be switched off under “About Nexview”. What each provider does with the requests is set out in their terms.

Web push. Every person can subscribe their own devices for notifications. Such messages travel through the push service of the respective browser vendor, that is Google, Mozilla or Apple. The content is encrypted end to end and unreadable for the service; it does learn the public address of the installation and the time and size of a message. This happens only after a person has explicitly allowed it on their device, and it can be switched off there at any time. This website itself sends no push messages.

10. Your rights

You have the following rights towards the controller:

  • access to the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • objection to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR)

An informal e-mail to the address above is sufficient.

11. Right to lodge a complaint

Without prejudice to any other remedy, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. An overview of the German authorities is available from the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

12. No automated decision-making

No automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.

13. Version and changes

Version of this policy: 13 October 2026. If anything about the website changes, this policy will be updated. The current version is always available at this address.
