Compare servers title by title
FeatureMedia serverOperationsWhen several media servers disagree, Nexview now shows which titles differ, where their files are and what each server identified them as, and fixes a wrong match on the server with one click.
New
- Compare servers title by title. *Statistics & analysis → Library → Compare servers* lists every title with one column per media server: present, missing, listed under a different ID, or the file is there but the server identified it as another title ("Listed in Jellyfin as …"). A tile per server counts its movies and series, so a library that is really smaller stands apart from one that is only matched differently. Views for differences, different IDs, year conflicts, titles without an ID and titles only in Radarr/Sonarr each come with steps to narrow the cause down. A row opens the IDs and file paths on each server, and the search finds paths too.
- Rematch a title on the server itself. Rows where a server disagrees carry a Rematch button. Pick the right title from the IDs already in the row, with the one from the file name suggested, and Nexview matches the title again on Plex, Jellyfin or Emby by its TMDB or TVDB ID, never by name. Afterwards it asks the server twice and says so when the server did not keep the fix. This is the only place where Nexview writes metadata to a media server, and it only runs on click.
- "View" on reconciliation findings leads to the titles. The four findings about differing sources opened the media server settings, where none of the titles appear. They now open the comparison, set to the matching view.
- Sign in to a connected media server again. *Settings → Services → Media server* checks whether each server still accepts the stored access and shows "Access denied" instead of "Connected" when it does not. Sign in again on the server's card replaces only the access; the connection, linked accounts and settings stay. Until now the only way was to disconnect.
Changed
- Titles on several servers are matched by every ID. The count of titles missing from one of several servers compared TMDB IDs only, so a title listed under another ID counted as missing on both sides (#10). Nexview now matches by TMDB, TVDB and IMDb, by an ID in the file path, and titles without any ID by title and year.
- Library reads keep the file paths. Each title keeps the path of its files (movies) or its folder (series). Plex lists series without their folder, so those are looked up when a row is opened.
Fixed
- The "access expired" banner always offered the Plex sign-in. It named no server, also when Emby had rejected the access. It now names the server and offers its sign-in, and for an administrator the server connection is renewed along with it.
- "Sync now" failed silently for Jellyfin and Emby. The error only showed in a section those servers do not have; it now appears at the button.
- Plex movies with two TMDB IDs were read with the second one, which could make a correctly matched movie look wrong. The first one counts now.
